The project aim was to "familiarise students with the design of a Multi-Unit Residential Development in Christchurch Central City, which aligns with the urban strategy of the area, while responding to the relevant local District Plan rules.

Students will research the context, case studies and the relevant District Plan clauses in order to propose a CONCEPT DESIGN, using a mix of media (Freehand, ArchiCAD and model)."

For this project I chose to use free hand sketching for most of the work I produced as I wanted to showcase my ability to work on paper, not only CAD. I also wanted to practice using markers and pens to render.

 

I enjoyed the urban analysis, and wished I had more time to develop the project further after my critical feedback from tutors near the end.
